There are times when you are home alone and are craving for some sweets and are afraid that if you remove too many vessels and utensils, you might  get a scolding from mom and she might even make you wash them. Here is a quick and easy way of making a payasam that to using only 1 equipment that is the Bajaj Electric Kettle.

With just one vessel dirty, I'm petty sure that she wont say no as well and appreciate the effort so why not make the dish and let also try the skills you have.
Below is the quick, easy and yet delicious dish.

To start with, first bring the below ingredients together and you are ready to go.

Ingredients:
Rice - 100 gms
Sugar- 80 gms (You can increase as per your sweetness level)
Milk- 500 ml
Water- 1 cup
Pure desi Ghee - 2 TSP
Raisins, Almonds & Cashew nuts chopped - lots (I love mine with lots of nuts)
Saffron - a few strands

Please read the instructions properly to make the Payasam in a kettle and yes, you read it right, in an electric kettle. Sounds different, right ? What sounds different always tastes good.

Method goes like this.

Step 1.
Firstly clean the rice and cook it using milk instead of water in the kettle. You gotta be extra careful and concentrate fully when cooking rice with a bajaj electric kettle. Once the rice is cooked, strain the rice and set it aside.

Step 2.
Pour milk and water into kettle and warm it, then add rice and saffron to the warmed milk & water mixture. Add sugar to taste and bring the milk to boil.

Step 3.
Over ride the auto cutoff feature of the kettle and let the milk to boil 3-4 times. Keep stirring the contents continuously using spoon. Don't let anything stick to the bottom.
Take out some rice using a spoon and check by mashing with fingers. Once the rice are soft and easy to mash, check the sugar and adjust accordingly. Take out the mixture in a bowl and clean the kettle.

With the above step, the part 1 of the recipe is complete, wasnt it easy ?

Part 2 is to take it to the next level.

Step 4.

Add 3 table spoon Ghee to kettle and melt it. Once melted, add raisins, almonds and cashew nuts and cook until the nuts turn to a light brown color. Just override the auto cut off to cook these to right texture. Once dry fruits are ready switch the kettle off and pour the milk & rice mixture prepared.

Remove the same in a bowl, garnish with some more nuts and there you have a delicious Kheer aka Payasam ready to eat that too prepared using bajaj electric kettle and no scolding from mom also.

Im sure that your experience of trying this creative, fun and interesting so follow each step carefully and you can cook this delicious dish without making utensils mess in your mom's kitchen.
